rail international shipping
The most effective means of transportation for moving commodities on the surface of the world is the railroad. Railroads are especially important for the long-distance, bulk delivery of heavy goods, where transportation costs account for a significant amount of the overall delivered cost. Among many other goods, a few examples of commodities transported by railroad are metals, coal, grain, fertilizer, chemicals, forest products, and completed automobiles. Although passenger transportation is no longer the railroads' primary business, Amtrak travels across freight railroads' track for around 70% of its distance at a price.
